This document deals with the application of small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) for the measurement of the particle concentration in suspensions. In this document, only the concentration of sufficiently monodisperse spherical particles is treated, which means that the width of the size distribution is typically below about 50 % of the mean diameter. Here, the differential scattering cross section can be calculated based on the form factor, which depends only on the momentum transfer q and the particle radius r. Furthermore, this document is limited to dilute systems. A dilute system in the sense of SAXS means that particle interactions are absent. In case of long-range interactions (Coulomb forces between the particles), special care needs to be taken and a reduction of the concentration can be necessary.

This International Standard gives a number of optimized test plans, the corresponding border lines and characteristics. In addition the algorithms for designing test plans using a spreadsheet program are also given, together with guidance on how to choose test plans.
This standard specifies procedures to test whether an observed value of
- failure rate,
- failure intensity,
- mean operating time to failure (MTTF),
- mean operating time between failures (MTBF),
conforms to a given requirement.
It is assumed, except where otherwise stated, that during the accumulated test time, the times to failure or the operating times between failures are independent and identically exponentially distributed. This assumption implies that the failure rate or failure intensity is assumed to be constant.
Four types of test plans are described as follows:
- truncated sequential probability ratio test (SPRT);
- fixed time/failure terminated test (FTFT);
- fixed calendar time terminated test without replacement;
- combined test.
This standard does not cover guidance on how to plan, perform, analyse and report a test. This information can be found in IEC 60300-3-5.
This standard does not describe test conditions. This information can be found in IEC 60605-2 and in IEC 60300-3-5.

IEC Guide 115:2023 presents a practical approach to the application of uncertainty of measurement to conformity assessment activities in the electrotechnical sector. It is specifically conceived for use in IECEE Schemes as well as by testing laboratories engaged in testing electrical products to national safety standards. It describes the application of uncertainty of measurement principles and provides guidance on making uncertainty of measurement calculations. It also gives some examples relating to uncertainty of measurement calculations for product conformity assessment testing. IEC Guide 115 has been prepared by the IECEE Committee of Testing Laboratories (CTL) to provide guidance on the practical application of the measurement uncertainty requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 to the electrical safety testing conducted within the IECEE CB Scheme. The IECEE CB Scheme is a multilateral, international agreement, among over 40 countries and some 60 national certification bodies, for the acceptance of test reports on electrical products tested to IEC standards.The aim of the CTL is, among other tasks, to define a common understanding of the test methodology with regard to the IEC standards as well as to ensure and continually improve the repeatability and reproducibility of test results among the member laboratories. The practical approach to measurement uncertainty outlined in this document has been adopted for use in the IECEE Schemes, and is also extensively used around the world by testing laboratories engaged in testing electrical products to national safety standards.

The present document defines an assessment of the direct applicability of the general material efficiency standards to
ICT network infrastructure goods in the context of circular economy. The existing generic standards address durability;
ability to remanufacture; repair, reuse, and upgrade; recyclability and recoverability; assessment of recycled content and
reused components; critical raw material content and information provision. The present document highlights where
further work on metrics/KPI and measurement methodologies may be needed for ICT network infrastructure goods
beyond each of the general standards. Specific product standards will take precedence over the present document. The
present document is a product family standard and will not define specific product requirements.

This part of IEC 60216 specifies the experimental and calculation procedures to be used for
deriving the relative temperature index of a material from experimental data obtained in
accordance with the instructions of IEC 60216-1 and IEC 60216-2. The calculation procedures
are supplementary to those of IEC 60216-3.
Guidance is also given for assessment of thermal ageing after a single fixed time and
temperature, without extrapolation.
The experimental data can in principle be obtained using destructive, non-destructive or proof
tests, although destructive tests have been much more extensively employed. Data obtained
from non-destructive or proof tests can be “censored”, in that measurement of times taken to
reach the endpoint have been terminated at some point after the median time but before all
specimens have reached end-point (see IEC 60216-1).
Guidance is given for preliminary assignment of a thermal class for an electrical insulating
material (EIM), based upon the thermal ageing performance.
While the thermal classification of an EIM is not directly related to the thermal classification of
an electrical insulation system (EIS), the thermal classification of an EIS follows the same
concepts as presented in this part of the 60216 series. The calculation procedures of this
standard apply to the determination of the thermal class of an EIS when the thermal stress is
the prevailing ageing factor.

This document specifies a method and establishes guidelines for non-destructive testing using active thermography with laser excitation.
Active thermography with laser excitation is mainly applicable, but not limited, to different materials (e.g. composites, metals, ceramics) and to:
- the detection of surface-breaking discontinuities, particularly cracks;
- the detection of discontinuities located just below the surface or below coatings with an efficiency that diminishes rapidly with a few mm depth;
- the detection of disbonds and delamination parallel to the examined surface;
- the measurement of thermal material properties, like thermal diffusivity;
- the measurement of coating thickness.
The requirements for the equipment, for the verification of the system, for the surface condition of the test object, for the scanning conditions, for the recording, the processing and the interpretation of the results are specified. This document does not apply to the definition of acceptance criteria.
Active thermography with laser excitation can be applied in industrial production as well as in maintenance and repair (vehicle parts, engine parts, power plant, aerospace, etc.).

IEC 60721-2-6:2022 deals with environmental conditions appearing in nature related to earthquake vibrations and shocks.
Its object is to define some fundamental properties and quantities for characterization of earthquakes as background material for the severities to which products are liable to be exposed during storage and use. The accelerations given are for ground surface conditions only. Conditions related to structures are referred to but restricted to general case descriptions.
This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition published in 1990. This edition constitutes a technical revision.
This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
the main aim of this revision is to classify in a limited number of classes the seismic activity level of the zone where the equipment could be installed;
the correlation between intensity scales, magnitude scales and peak ground acceleration is deleted due to the scientific uncertainty to define such a correlation in a rigorous way;
updated scales are given both for intensity and for magnitude;
the earthquake zone map, which was not usable in practice, is replaced by an annex giving information about how to retrieve consistent peak ground acceleration distribution all over the world;
with regard to identification of the peak ground seismic acceleration of the zone, where the equipment could be installed, the user is made aware that national standards and laws can apply.
