Garden equipment - Garden blowers, vacuums and blower/vacuums - Safety

This European Standard specifies the safety requirements and their verification for the design and construction of hand-held combustion engine powered and back-pack combustion engine powered, garden vacuums and garden blower/vacuums with or without shredding means and garden blowers, designed for one operator only. In addition, it specifies the type of information on safe working practices (including residual risks) to be provided by the manufacturer.
Throughout this European Standard the term 'machine' is used to mean all the types of garden blowers and vacuums covered by it.
This European Standard deals, except for vibration of backpack machines, with all hazards, hazardous situations and events relevant to these machines when they are used as intended and under the conditions foreseen by the manufacturer (see Clause 4).
This European Standard is not applicable to:
- walk-behind, hand-guided (support-wheeled) and ride-on machines;
- mains driven and battery powered blowers and vacuums of combinations thereof;
NOTE   EN 60335-1 [1] and IEC 60335-2-100 [2] give the safety requirements for mains driven blowers and blower vacuums, vacuum cleaners for household and industrial use.
- structural integrity test for blowers and blower vacuums;
- strength test for harnesses and back-pack supports.
This European Standard is not applicable to machines which are manufactured before the date of its publication as EN.

Gartengeräte - Blasgeräte, Sauggeräte und Blas-/Sauggeräte für den Garten - Sicherheit

Diese Europäische Norm legt sicherheitstechnische Anforderungen und Prüfungen für die Gestaltung und Konstruktion von handgehaltenen mit Verbrennungsmotor getriebenen und rückentragbaren mit Verbrennungsmotor getriebenen Garten-Sauggeräten und Garten-Blas-/Sauggeräten mit oder ohne Zerkleinerungseinrichtung und Garten-Blasgeräten, die für den Einsatz eines Benutzers vorgesehen sind, fest. Außerdem gibt sie Informationen über sicheres Arbeiten (einschließlich Restrisiken), die vom Hersteller zur Verfügung zu stellen sind.
In dieser gesamten Europäischen Norm wird der Begriff „Maschine“ verwendet, wenn alle von ihr abgedeckten Gartenblas- und -sauggeräte gemeint sind.
Diese Europäische Norm behandelt alle Gefährdungen, Gefährdungssituationen und Gefährdungsereignisse für diese Maschinen, sofern sie unter dem vorgegebenen Zweck und unter den vom Hersteller vorgesehenen Bedingungen eingesetzt werden (siehe Abschnitt 4), ausgenommen sind:
-   Schwingungen für rückentragbare Maschinen;
-   Gehäusefestigkeit für Blas- und Blas-/Sauggeräte;
-   Dauerhaftigkeit für Tragegurte und rückentragbare Halterungen.
Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für:
-   handgeführte, handgehaltene (mit Rädern unterstützt) und Aufsitzmaschinen;
-   netz- und batteriebetriebene Blas-/Sauggerätekombinationen;
ANMERKUNG   Die Sicherheitsanforderungen an netzbetriebene Blasgeräte und Blas-/Sauggeräte für den Haus- und industriellen Gebrauch werden über EN 60335-1 [1] und IEC 60335-2-100 [2] abgedeckt.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie les prescriptions de sécurité et de vérification pour la conception et la
construction des aspirateurs et aspirateurs-souffleurs de jardin motorisés tenus à la main et portés sur le dos, avec
ou sans dispositif de broyage ou de soufflerie, conçus pour être utilisés par un seul opérateur. Elle précise
également le type d’informations que le fabricant doit fournir sur les pratiques d’utilisation sûres (y compris les
risques résiduels).
Dans la présente Norme européenne, le terme « machine » désigne tous les types de souffleurs et aspirateurs
qu’elle couvre.
La présente Norme européenne traite tous les phénomènes dangereux, situations et événements dangereux
significatifs applicables à ces machines, lorsqu’elles sont utilisées normalement et dans les conditions prévues par
le fabricant (voir l’Article 4), à l’exception :
- des vibrations sur les machines portées sur le dos,
- à l’essai d’intégrité structurelle pour les souffleurs et aspirateurs-souffleurs,
- à l’essai de résistance pour les harnais et bretelles.
La présente Norme européenne n’est pas applicable :
- aux machines guidées manuellement (à roues), à conducteur accompagnant et à conducteur porté,
- aux souffleurs et aspirateurs de toutes sortes fonctionnant sur le secteur ou sur batterie.
NOTE Les EN 60335-1 [1] et CEI 60335-2-100 [2] donnent les prescriptions de sécurité pour les souffleurs et aspirateurssouffleurs
fonctionnant sur le secteur, les aspirateurs domestiques et industriels.
La présente Norme européenne n’est pas applicable aux machines fabriquées avant la date de publication du

EN 15503:2009+A2:2015 (E) 10 4 List of significant hazards For the purposes of this European Standard, Table 1 gives, for defined danger zones, all the significant hazards, the significant hazardous situations and events covered by this European Standard, that have been identified by risk assessment as being significant for this type of machine, and which require specific action to eliminate or to reduce the risk The attention is drawn to the necessity to verify that the safety requirements specified in this European Standard apply to each significant hazard presented by a given machine and to validate that the risk assessment is complete with particular attention to: — the intended use of the machine including maintenance, setting and cleaning and its reasonably foreseeable misuse; — the identification of all significant hazards associated with the machine.
