Steel and iron - Determination of sulfur content - Gravimetric method (ISO 4934:2003)
ISO 4934:2003 specifies a gravimetric method for the determination of the sulfur content in steels and iron, excluding steels containing selenium. The method is particularly suitable as a reference method for the standardization of samples on which certified standard values are to be established.
The method is applicable to a sulfur content between 0,003 % (mass fraction) and 0,35 %(mass fraction).

Diese Internationale Norm legt ein gravimetrisches Verfahren zur Bestimmung des Schwefelgehaltes in Stählen und Eisen fest, mit Ausnahme von selenhaltigen Stählen. Das Verfahren ist besonders als Referenzverfahren für die Normierung von Proben geeignet, für die zertifizierte Normwerte einzuführen sind.
Dieses Verfahren ist für Schwefelanteile im Bereich von 0,003 Masse-% bis 0,35 Masse-% anzuwenden.

L'ISO 4934:2003 spécifie une méthode gravimétrique pour le dosage du soufre dans les aciers et les fontes, à l'exclusion des aciers contenant du sélénium. Cette méthode est particulièrement utilisable comme méthode de référence pour la normalisation des échantillons pour lesquels des valeurs normales certifiées doivent être établies.
La méthode est applicable à une teneur en soufre comprise entre les valeurs 0,003 % (fraction massique) et 0,35 % (fraction massique).

an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by June 2004, and conflicting national
standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by June 2004.
This document supersedes EN 24934:1989.
