Safety requirements for electrical equipment for measurement, control, and laboratory use - Part 2-012: Particular requirements for climatic and environmental testing and other temperature conditioning equipment

IEC 61010-2-012:2016 specifies safety requirements for electrical equipment and their accessories within the categories a) through c), wherever they are intended to be used, whenever that equipment incorporates one or more of the following characteristics:
- A REFRIGERATING SYSTEM that is acted on or impacted by an integral heating function such that the combined heating and cooling system generates additional and/or more severe HAZARDS than those for the two systems if treated separately.
- The materials being treated in the intended application introduce significant heat into the REFRIGERATING SYSTEM that the cooling system in the application yield additional and/or more severe HAZARDS than those for the cooling system if operated at the maximum RATED ambient alone.
- An irradiation function for the materials being treated presenting additional HAZARDS.
- A function to expose the materials being treated to excessive humidity, carbon dioxide, salt mist, or other substances which may result in additional HAZARDS.
- A function of MECHANICAL MOVEMENT presenting additional HAZARDS.
- Provision for an OPERATOR to walk-in to the operating area to load or unload the materials being treated.
It has the status of a group safety publication in accordance with IEC Guide 104.
This publication is to be read in conjunction with IEC 61010-1:2010.

L'IEC 61010-2-012:2016 spécifie les exigences de sécurité pour les appareils électriques et leurs accessoires relevant des catégories a) à c) quelle que soit l'utilisation à laquelle ils sont destinés, lorsque ces appareils comprennent une ou plusieurs des caractéristiques suivantes:
- Un SYSTEME FRIGORIFIQUE affecté ou influencé par une fonction de chauffage intégrée de sorte que le système de chauffage et de refroidissement combiné engendre des DANGERS supplémentaires et/ou plus graves que ceux pour les deux systèmes s'ils sont traités séparément.
- Les matières traitées dans l'application prévue génèrent une chaleur importante dans le SYSTEME FRIGORIFIQUE, de sorte que le système de refroidissement dans l'application engendre des DANGERS supplémentaires et/ou plus graves que ceux pour le système de refroidissement dans le cas où il est utilisé seul à la température ambiante ASSIGNEE maximale.
- Une fonction d'exposition aux rayonnements pour les matières traitées qui présentent des DANGERS supplémentaires.
- Une fonction dédiée à l'exposition des matières traitées à une humidité excessive, au dioxyde de carbone, au brouillard salin ou à d'autres substances qui peuvent engendrer des DANGERS supplémentaires.
- Une fonction de MOUVEMENT MECANIQUE qui présente des DANGERS supplémentaires.
- Un dispositif qui permet le déplacement de l'OPERATEUR vers la zone de manoeuvre afin de charger ou décharger les matières traitées.
Elle a le statut d'une publication groupée de sécurité conformément au Guide IEC 104.
Cette publication doit être lue conjointement avec la IEC 61010-1:2010

IEC 61010-2-032:2023 specifies safety requirements for hand-held and hand-manipulated current sensors intended for measuring, detecting or injecting current, or indicating current waveforms on circuits without physically opening the current path of the circuit being measured.
These current sensors are hand-manipulated before and/or after a test or measurement, but are not necessarily hand-held during the test or measurement. They can be stand-alone current sensors or accessories to other equipment or parts of combined equipment. These include measurement circuits which are part of electrical test and measurement equipment, laboratory equipment, or process control equipment.
This fifth edition cancels and replaces the fourth edition published in 2019. This edition constitutes a technical revision.
This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
a) In 1.1.1, definitions of current sensor types have been moved to a new Annex FF;
b) Clause 2, all normative references have been dated and new normative references have been added;
c) 3.2.103, a new definition protective fingerguard has been added which replaces the previous definition of protective barrier;

IEC 61010-2-034:2023 specifies safety requirements to equipment for measuring insulation resistance and to equipment for testing electric strength which have an output voltage exceeding 50 V a.c. or 120 V d.c. This document also applies to combined measuring equipment which has an insulation resistance measurement function or an electric strength test measurement function. This document has the status of a horizontal publication in accordance with IEC Guide 108. It has the status of a group safety publication in accordance with IEC Guide 104. This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition published in 2017. This edition constitutes a technical revision. Safety requirements for electrical equipment for measurement, control, and laboratory use - Part 031: Safety requirements for hand-held and hand-manipulated probe assemblies for electrical test and measurement

IEC 61010-031:2022 specifies safety requirements for hand-held and hand-manipulated probe assemblies for electrical test and measurement, and their related accessories. These probe assemblies are for non-contact or direct electrical connection between a part and electrical test and measurement equipment. They can be fixed to the equipment or be detachable accessories for the equipment.
It has the status of a group safety publication in accordance with IEC Guide 104.
This third edition cancels and replaces the second edition published in 2015, and Amendment 1:2018. IEC 61010-031 is a stand-alone standard. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
the scope has been made succinct. General information from the scope of Edition 2 has been moved to a new Clause 4. Consequently, Clause 4 to Clause 8 of Edition 2 have been renumbered. Clause 9 of Edition 2 has been deleted;
in Clause 2, normative references have been dated and new normative references have been added;
in 3.1.4, the definition of probe tip has been modified;
in 4.1, there is no longer any differentiation between high voltage and low voltage probe assemblies. Type C probe assemblies have been merged with Type B probe assemblies;
in 4.1 d) "Kelvin" probes have been added to the list of probe assemblies as a new Type E and a new Figure 5;
in 4.1 e), probes for voltage measurement without electrical connection to conductors have been added to the list of probe assemblies as a new Type F and a new Figure 6;
in 4.2.1, spread of fire is no longer considered as a hazard;
Subclause 4.4.2.5 from Edition 2 has been deleted;
Subclause 4.4.4.3 from Edition 2 has been deleted;
in 5.4.4.1 consideration has been given to spacings and impedance;
in 6.1.1, removable parts of probe tips which bear markings are allowed;
in 6.1.5, the voltage to be marked for measurement categories is the AC line-to-neutral or DC voltage;
in 7.4.2, requirements for unmated connectors have been modified as follows:
Table 2 has been modified and expanded,
a calculation method for clearances of connectors above 20 kV has been defined,
creepage distances have been aligned with clearances;
in 7.4.3.1 and 7.4.3.5, requirements for IP2X probe tips with retractable sleeve have been added;
in 7.4.3.2, Probe tips are now applicable to non-contact probe assemblies;
in 7.5.2.3.2, the values of Table 5 have been modified;
in 7.6.2, voltage tests of clearances are done without humidity preconditioning;
pre-treatments for rigidity test from Clause 10 of Edition 2 have been moved to 9.2;

- The scope has been reduced to hand-held multimeters. Voltmeters and clamp multimeters have been removed. They are addressed respectively by IEC 61010-2-030 and IEC 61010-2-032. The relevant definitions have been removed.
- Subclause 4.4.2.101 has been relocated into Clause 102.
- Clearances and creepage distances for wet locations and for measuring circuit terminals exceeding 1 000 V a.c. or 1 414 V d.c. have been specified.
- Subclause 14.101 related to "Circuits or components used as transient overvoltage limiting devices in measuring circuits used to measure mains" has been removed.

These include measurement circuits which are part of electrical test and measurement equipment, laboratory equipment, or process control equipment. These current sensors and circuits need additional protective means between the current sensor, the circuit and an operator. This fourth edition cancels and replaces the third edition published in 2012. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
- It has been indicated that current sensors used as fixed equipment are not within the scope of this document.
- Fork-style current sensors have been added.
- Requirements from Part 2-033 applicable to clamp multimeters that have a primary purpose of measuring voltage on live mains have been included in the new normative Annex EE.
- Clearances and creepage distances for measuring circuit terminals exceeding 1 000 V a.c. or 1 414 V d.c. and for wet locations have been specified.
- Reduced creepage distances are allowed to be according to material group I for all insulating materials.
- Requirements for input/output circuits of Type A, Type B and Type C current sensors have been detailed in 6.9.102.
